Organizational Change Comes
to the
Center for Collaborative Organizations (CCO)
Over the years, the CCO has been a beacon of information and guidance to
numerous companies throughout the world as they made organizational
change. Now we find ourselves doing the same thing as we face the need
for transformation. In February 2008, the Center will discontinue
operations at the University of North Texas.
We are indebted to the Drs. Michael Beyerlein and Douglas Johnson for
creating the Center and to the devoted efforts of Dr. Rodger Ballentine,
Co-Director, and Kathy Belcher, Education Director for making a great
idea work. We are grateful for the many students and professionals who
have been on staff over the years, with special appreciation to our Web
Manager, Nancy Gorman. Further, we would like to thank the many
organizations that have been our Corporate Sponsors and customers over
the past 19 years. Their guidance and support were essential to the
Center’s success.
We acknowledge the many individuals who have participated in our
conferences, workshops, and training sessions as advisors, attendees and
presenters. The information they shared and the support they provided
has enabled the Center to serve as a world-class resource for
collaborative work system design and development.
In the near future, the Center will be reinvented at Purdue University
under the leadership of its creator, Dr. Michael Beyerlein. Dr.
Beyerlein is Head, Department of Organizational Leadership & Supervision
at Purdue in West Lafayette, IN. He will be fitting the Center to that
environment, continuing many of its traditions, and expanding the scope
somewhat to incorporate the interests and expertise of faculty and
students across Purdue to provide a wider range of support for sponsors
and organizations. A new website will be created this spring with a
slightly different name, but a Google search will find the old name on
that home page. Please feel free to contact Mike by email or phone (see
below). He appreciates the support you have given over the past years
and welcomes your input in establishing a new home for the Center.
